D-Style
Biography
D-Style, real name Dennis Nicholls, is a DJ and producer specializing in euro-trance and hands-up, based in Nordrhein-Westfalen.
Born in 1981 and of English origin, he developed an early passion for electronic music. In 2005 he founded the project Verano with friends Marco Juliano and Stefan Richly; they became known on the German dance scene through remixes for Cascada, Tune Up! and C-Bool. Dennis left the project at the end of 2007 to focus on his work at Zooland Records while continuing studies in computer science.
Alongside Verano he initiated other musical projects such as Minera, Syndroma and Minozza Inc.
In 2006 he joined the label Zooland Records, founded by producers Manian and Yanou; his responsibilities included publishing, promotion and talent scouting, notably for his friend Manox.
His solo career began in 2007 with the release of his first single Gone, produced with Dan Winter and released on Mental Madness; the track was included in DJs’ sets such as Alex Megane and Manian, and its success allowed him to perform as a DJ across Europe. The same year he founded OCEANLIGHT-MEDIA, the European branch of OCEANLIGHT PRODUCTIONS USA.
