Biography
Cooper is a dance act backed by the Dutch production team Klubbheads, at the time consisting of Koen Groeneveld, Addy van der Zwan and Jan Voermans, and fronted by Dutch singer Eve (15), aka Eva Simons (Eva Maria Simons, born 27 April 1984). The project is also associated with the alias Antonio Cooper Cupertino.
Eva Simons, whose mother is Ingrid Simons, started her career in 2001 as a member of Cooper, formed by the Klubbheads. In 2004 she auditioned for the Dutch TV show “Popstars: The Rivals”: during the show she became part of the girl group Raffish, which she left in 2005 to pursue a solo career. From 2010 onwards, she became known for collaborations with artists such as Afrojack, Will.I. Am and Sidney Samson.
Koen Groeneveld is an electronic record producer and DJ from Rotterdam, South Holland, and the founder and owner of Abzolut. Mostly together with his long-term friend and musical partner Addy van der Zwan, he produced over 30 international crossover hits between 1992 and the present. His best-known projects include Klubbheads, DJ BoozyWoozy, Hi_Tack, Koen Groeneveld, DJ Disco, Drunkenmunky, Itty Bitty Boozy Woozy and The Ultimate Seduction. He also produced tracks for DJ Jean and DJ Paul Elstak, including The Launch, Love Come Home, Luv U More, Rainbow In The Sky and The Promised Land.
Between 1988 and 1990, Koen Groeneveld and Addy van der Zwan made mixes and remixes for Dutch national radio in shows such as “Ferry Maat Soul Show” and “TROS Dance Trax”, hosted by Dutch TV celebrity Martijn Krabbé. From 1990 to 1995, the duo mixed around 100 compilation CDs, including the “House Party” and “Turn Up The Bass” series for Dutch label Arcade.
Addy van der Zwan (Adriaan van der Zwan) is a Dutch (hard) house DJ and producer who became known in the early 1990s as a remixer for Arcade’s “Turn Up The Bass” compilations alongside Koen Groeneveld. Together they released many records under various names, notably The Ultimate Seduction, as well as releases as Klubbheads.
