LMC

LMC

Biography

LMC is an English dance music project formed by producers Lee Monteverde, Matt Cadman (also spelled Cattman in some sources) and Cris Nuttall. The group name is an acronym made from the first letter of each of their first names. The trio is based in Blackburn, United Kingdom.

They are best known for the single Take Me to the Clouds Above, released in January 2004 and credited to LMC vs U2. Sung by vocalist Rachel McFarlane, the track combines a sample of With or Without You by U2 with lyrics taken from How Will I Know by Whitney Houston. It became the most-played track on UK radio and reached number one on the UK charts in February 2004, selling over 200,000 copies. The success also went international (top 5 in Ireland and top 10 in Australia), and the track was notably praised by U2 bassist Adam Clayton.

Before that breakthrough, LMC had already made an impact on the UK club charts with the 2003 promo track Everything U Need. Keen to avoid being labelled a one-hit project, they followed up with the 2005 single Don't Let Go, credited to LMC vs New Radicals and based on You Get What You Give. A new version of the same track, titled You Get What You Give, was released in 2006 and reached number 30 in the UK. That same year, they also issued the promo track Little Bird, credited to LMC vs Trick Babies.

LMC are also known as prolific remixers. Their remix discography includes work for artists such as Erasure (Oh L'amour in 2003 and Breathe in 2005), Shania Twain (Party for Two in 2004), as well as Scooter, Dannii Minogue, Lasgo, Flip & Fill and Robert Palmer.

Within the trio, Lee Monteverde is regarded as the main producer, while Matt Cadman and Cris Nuttall, who are also behind the All Around The World label, add the finishing touches to the productions.
