Dannii Minogue

Biography

Danielle “Dannii” Jane Minogue is an Australian singer, actress, model, fashion designer, and television personality born on October 20, 1971, in Melbourne. She is the younger sister of the artist Kylie Minogue.

Her media career began on Australian television, notably on the show ‘Young Talent Time’ and in the role of Emma on the soap opera ‘Home & Away’. Her debut single, Love and Kisses, reached the top 10 in Australia in 1990 and then in the United Kingdom in 1991.

She later set a record of thirteen consecutive number-one hits on the UK club charts. A major turning point in her music career came in 1997 with the album ‘Girl’ and its lead single All I Wanna Do, which firmly steered her towards dancefloor music.

In 2001, her vocal feature on the track Who Do You Love Now? paved the way for her fourth album, ‘Neon Nights’, released in March 2003. The album was unexpectedly successful, reaching number 8 on the UK charts and achieving gold certification in the UK and Australia. During this period, she also collaborated with the chill-out group Afterlife on their album ‘Speck of Gold’.

Her subsequent singles, such as I Begin To Wonder and Put The Needle On It, solidified her credibility in the dance genre. In 2004, she joined the label All Around The World Records and released the single You Won't Forget About Me, which reached number 7 in the UK.

She then collaborated with Soul Seekerz on Perfection in 2005, and returned in 2006 with So Under Pressure and her compilation ‘The Hits & Beyond’. In 2007, she became a judge on the British ITV show ‘The X Factor’.

That same year, her albums ‘Girl’ and ‘Neon Nights’ were reissued with bonus discs, followed by the release of the studio album ‘Club Disco’ and the compilation ‘Unleashed’. A standalone single, Touch Me Like That, was also released in December 2007. Later in 2008, a highly anticipated duet with her sister Kylie Minogue emerged, a cover of ABBA’s The Winner Takes It All for the BBC series ‘Beautiful People’ soundtrack.

Among her aliases, she has used the pseudonym Sue Doe. She has been signed to several labels throughout her career, including Mushroom, MCA, Warner, London Records, Ultra Records, and All Around The World.
