Manian

Biography

Manian, born Manuel Reuter, is a German DJ and producer born on 7 July 1978 in Bonn. His musical activity began in 2001, after starting as a DJ in 1995 at the age of 17.

He is best known as the creator and a founding member of the dance group Cascada, alongside producer Yanou (Yann Peifer) and singer Natalie Horler. He is also part of notable projects such as Spencer & Hill (with Manuel Schleis, aka Vengeance) and R.I.O. (a house project with Yanou and vocalist Neil Antone Dyer).

In 2000 he began studying public economics at the University of Bonn, leaving in 2002 to devote himself fully to music; it was around this time he met Sven Petersen, who became his mentor, and Yann Peifer (Yanou), his future partner on many projects.

In 2004 his meeting with Natalie Horler led to the formation of Cascada. In October 2005 he co-founded the label Zooland Records with Yanou, which includes the sublabels ZooGroove (dedicated to house and electro) and ZooDigital (for exclusive digital releases).

As a solo artist he achieved most of his success in Germany through Zooland Records; his track Welcome to the Club marked his first release in the United Kingdom on AATW Records. He has produced numerous singles under various aliases and maintains several parallel projects, including Tune Up!, Bulldozzer, M.Y.C., Ampire, Liz Kay and Phalanx.

Today he is also responsible for mastering demos by independent artists and producers for Zooland Records, Playbox Music and Kontor Records.
