Melody Castellari
Biography
Melody Castellari is an Italian singer and producer, born on 10 June 1975 in Bologna, daughter of Sergio Castellari and Daniela Giordano. She began very young in the 1980s performing songs for animated cartoons.
At age 15 she started working as a backing singer and lent her voice, often uncredited, to numerous dance projects; notable exceptions where she appears are “Zombie” by the project A.D.A.M. and “Talk to Me” by D.E.A.R., in which she sings and dances in the videos.
As a studio vocalist she recorded for multiple projects on the Media Records label and under Time Records, sometimes partially or entirely in French, such as two singles by Double M or “Tango” by Zivago. For New Music International she recorded the international hit “Inside to Outside” by the Lady Violet project, but Noémi was chosen to represent Lady Violet publicly; since Noemi later recorded the other Lady Violet tracks herself, Melody became the new voice of Noemi Dee, Noemi’s original alter ego.
She also composed songs for artists including Double You, Ice MC, Gala and Alexia. As a solo artist she released the pop album “Vorrei” in 1998 and several singles. In 2002 she played Princess Nefertari in the musical “Les Dix Commandements” produced by Guido and Maurizio de Angelis, and performed at Castel Gandolfo in memory of Pope John Paul II.
In recent years she began working as a producer while continuing as a backing singer for Italian and international artists such as Elio e le Storie Tese, Brazilian Love Affair, Nick the Nightfly, Fiordaliso, Flubby and Time Machine, and as lead singer on dance projects. She also leads her own alternative rock band, Melody Castle.
