Lady Violet
Biography
Lady Violet is an Italian Euro House and Italodance project fronted by singer Francesca Messina (born September 10, 1972 in Florence). The Lady Violet character was built around her presence and noble origins. This project led to her other alter ego, Noemi Dee, being put on hold.
The debut single, Inside to Outside, originally recorded by Max Castrezzati, became the project’s biggest hit. It charted in five countries or regions, reaching No. 71 on the European Hot 100 Singles. It performed especially well in Scandinavia, peaking at No. 11 in Sweden and No. 19 in Norway.
The follow-up singles Beautiful World, Calling Your Name / Lovin' You Baby and No Way No Time all charted in Italy, unlike the first hit. The last single, In Your Mind, did not enter the charts.
The production team behind the releases included Pippo Landro, D. Soriani, F. Lenzi, M. Montanari, as well as Graziano Fanelli. Melody Castellari later recorded a second single for the Noemi Dee project before it was definitively abandoned.
Francesca Messina left the Lady Violet project and its label in 2003, bringing this 1990s–2000s musical venture to an end.
