Biography
The 89ers are a German Hands Up project, a subgenre of electronic dance music.
The collective comprises Paul Hutsch (a Hands Up producer) and Claudia Heymann, and also includes the brothers Andy Hutsch and Andy Reznik.
The group became known in 2002 with the track Wap Bam Boogie, featured on the compilation Future Trance Vol. 20, and achieved their biggest success in 2003 with a cover of the classic by UB40, Kingston Town.
Their output continued in 2005 with Funky Beatz and a cover of Words, followed in 2006 by Ritmo Forte, Higher Love and a version of the hit by Eiffel 65, Blue (Da Ba Dee), which entered the dance charts.
In addition to their releases, the 89ers are especially known for numerous remixes. At the same time, Paul Hutsch has been active in other projects such as Sample Rippers, Rave Allstars and Pitchers.
