Vanessa

Biography

Vanessa Hörster was born on 22 May 1978 in Dorsten. From an early age her calling for singing was evident: she performed contemporary hits and transcribed them.

At age ten she gave her first performance; shortly after she founded a cover band called “Wheels”, which played at many parties in the Münster region, covering songs by artists such as Mariah Carey and Alanis Morissette.

In late 1997 she met the producers of the dance project Dune, Oliver Froning and Jens Oettrich. In April 1998 Dune introduced its new lead singer; Vanessa made her debut with the single Keep the Secret.

The next single, Electric Heaven, was released in summer 1998. As the song did not achieve much success, Vanessa subsequently left the group Dune.

Today Vanessa Hörster works as a backing singer on several projects, for example for Loona and DJ Sammy, and also toured Germany for several years with her band “Wheels”.

She currently leads a cover band called “Vanessa & Kubo” with guitarist Dirk Kubowicz.
