Biography

Train is an American pop-rock band from San Francisco, formed in 1993.

As of 2024, the lineup includes Pat Monahan (vocals), Taylor Locke (guitar and backing vocals), Hector Maldonado (bass and backing vocals), Jerry Becker (keyboards and guitar), and Matt Musty (drums).
Former members who shaped the band’s history include Rob Hotchkiss, Jimmy Stafford, Scott Underwood, and Charlie Colin.

The band achieved mainstream success with their self-titled debut album released in 1998, led by the single Meet Virginia.
Their 2001 album, Drops of Jupiter, and its hit Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me) earned them two Grammy Awards in 2002.

After a three-year hiatus, Train returned in 2009 with the album Save Me, San Francisco, which produced the international hit Hey, Soul Sister, certified six-times platinum by the RIAA.

Over the course of their career, Train has sold more than 10 million albums and 30 million singles worldwide.
