Biography

Toby Lee Connor, born Tobias David Lützenkirchen, is a prolific German electronic music producer. His career is marked by a constant exploration of subgenres such as trance and euro house across numerous projects and aliases. His most notable pseudonyms include Sounddiver, LXR, Karosa, Richthoven and Witchboard Project, along with other identities like 7-7-0, DJ Kadozer, Ultrakomm, Paratopic and Re-Vival.

[p]He uses these aliases to separate creative directions and releases, each project allowing him to explore a specific musical approach.</p][p]His first track under his own name was released in August 2005 on the compilation Nature One 2005 – Mission to Future. In collaboration with John Acquaviva, the track Zombie ranked among Beatport's bestsellers in 2008.</p][p]In 2006 he founded the label Tabula Raza with the support of Marc Romboy, manager of the Systematic label. That same year saw the release of the Yello remix EP Oh Yeah 'Oh Six', featuring remixes by Booka Shade, Oliver Huntemann and Lützenkirchen. In 2007 he launched his own label, Platform B, a subsidiary of Great Stuff Recordings, which helped broaden his recognition.</p][p]Tobias Lützenkirchen became widely known for the track 3 Tage wach, released in 2008 on Stil vor Talent; it reached number one on the DCC and ODC charts. A video and a remix by Scooter were also published. The track sparked controversy — Der Spiegel labeled it an “anthem for drugs” — and Lützenkirchen clarified on his blog that the song should not be interpreted as an encouragement to drug use.</p][p]He describes his own style as neo- or new-school techno, and his work brings together elements of techno, house, trance and rave without confining him to a single genre.</p]
