Biography

Timati, whose real name is Timur Yunusov, is a Russian rapper and contemporary R&B producer, born on August 15, 1983 in Moscow.

He began his music career in 1998 as part of the hip-hop group VIP77. Around 1999, he worked as an MC for the Russian rapper Децл, before gaining wider recognition with the R&B quartet Банда.

His breakthrough came in 2006 with the release of his first solo album, Black Star. His second studio album, The Boss, led to collaborations with many international artists such as Snoop Dogg, P. Diddy, Xzibit, Busta Rhymes, Mario Winans, Craig David, Eve, and Fat Joe, expanding his audience.

His first international studio album, SWAGG, was released in 2012 and entered the Austrian, German, and Swiss charts.

Despite his commercial success, Timati has been criticized for mediocrity and plagiarism. In particular, his track Наедине is considered a translated version of Welcome to Heartbreak by Kanye West. Some critics also attribute his success to significant advertising investments.
