Biography
Darren Styles, real name Darren James Mew, is a British producer, disc jockey and singer-songwriter from Colchester, England.
He began his career as a member of the breakbeat hardcore group DJ Force & The Evolution, then found success in the 1990s as one half of the duo Force & Styles, considered a pioneer of the Happy Hardcore genre and responsible for well-known tracks such as Heart of Gold, Pretty Green Eyes and Paradise & Dreams.
In the early 2000s Darren Styles shifted his production toward more trance-influenced sounds, collaborating with Mark Brady as Styles & Breeze: the duo released two successful singles, You're Shining (2004) and Heartbeatz (2005), both of which reached the Top 20 of the UK Singles Chart.
Styles & Breeze also took part in every edition of the Clubland X-Treme Hardcore compilation series.
