Sharon Den Adel
Biography
Sharon Janny den Adel is a Dutch singer and songwriter born on July 12, 1974 in Waddinxveen.
She is best known as the lead vocalist and one of the songwriters for the symphonic rock band Within Temptation, which she co-founded in 1996 with guitarist Robert Westerholt, whom she is also married to. She began performing professionally at the age of 14.
Outside of her main band, she has collaborated with various artists from the electronic and trance scene. Notably, she co-wrote and performed the vocals for the track In And Out Of Love by DJ Armin Van Buuren.
In November 2017, she announced a solo project under the name My Indigo, one of her aliases. She also holds a degree in fashion design, which she uses to create her band’s stage costumes and merchandise.
