Biography

Petra Linnea Paula Marklund, better known by the stage name September, is a Swedish dance singer born in Stockholm on 12 September 1984.

She began recording in studio at age 12. At 17 she sang in a rock band and secured a recording contract; her songs were written and produced by Jonas von der Burg, Niclas von der Burg and Anoo Bhagavan.

In 2003, at 18, she scored her first success in Sweden with the single La La La (Never Give It Up), which reached number 8, followed by We Can Do It, her second top ten. These two singles preceded the release of her debut album in February 2004, accompanied by the third single September All Over, which also reached number 8.

After a break, she returned with Satellites, the lead single from her second album In Orbit; the song became her biggest hit to date and ranks 139th on the Swedish all-time singles chart. Other singles from the album include Looking For Love, Flowers on the grave and Cry For You, the latter regarded as her biggest international hit.

In Poland, In Orbit was released with new remixes and a DVD containing the videos: it was well received there, reached number 10 for two weeks and was certified gold for selling more than 10,000 copies.
