Biography

Samantha Karen Fox, born on 15 April 1966 in Mile End, London, is a former glamour model turned pop and dance singer. She achieved international success in the 1980s.


Her music career began in the mid-1980s through collaborations with renowned producers such as Stock Aitken Waterman and Full Force. Her debut single, Touch Me (I Want Your Body), released when she was barely twenty years old, reached number one in many countries and charted in the UK Top 10. It became one of the best-selling singles of the 1980s in Australia.


She then followed with several international hits entering the Top 10 in the United States and Great Britain, including Naughty Girls (Need Love Too), I Wanna Have Some Fun, Do Ya Do Ya (Wanna Please Me) and Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now. Overall, her record sales exceed thirty million copies worldwide.


In 1998, she released her fifth studio album, 21st Century Fox, marking a turning point as she took significant creative control for the first time. Although it did not become a major mainstream success, the album was appreciated by her fans and included singles such as Deeper, Let Me Be Free, The Reason Is You and Santa Maria.


In the 2000s, she released her sixth album Angel With An Attitude and several collaborative singles. She reworked her hit Touch Me with producer Günther and recorded tracks like Tomorrow and Midnight Lover. She also collaborated with 4 Strings on Forever and covered Blondie’s Call Me as a duet with Sabrina Salerno.


Her musical style, associated with hi-nrg and italo disco genres, is also categorised as 80s pop and dance. For some projects, she used the aliases 21st Century (3) and Karen Wilkin.
