Roby Pinna
Biography
Roby Pinna, born Roberto Pinna, is an Italian DJ and producer from Genoa. He released his first record in 1992 on PanPot, the label of Daniele Davoli, creator of Black Box, with the track Sing Song. He then put out the single Rapsodia on the Vertical label.
In 1994, he created the European DMC remix of With or without you by Double You, which entered the European Top 100, and later produced two more tracks for DWA.
He released many records on the Dancework and Palmares labels, as well as the key single I wanna give you devotion, produced by Datura for the IRMA label. In 2000, he founded his own label, NRG Records (New Radical Groove), which in 2004 became the Dance label of the Maccaja group. Thanks to this agreement, NRG productions were included in the soundtracks of Italian film and television productions.
He began his career as a disc jockey at the age of 12, first playing at his friends’ birthday parties. At 16, he performed in his first nightclub, Villa Porticciolo in Rapallo. He then played in many clubs in Italy and across Europe, including Music Palace, Vanilla, Moghy, Maddox, Nautilus, la Loggia, Cezanne, Cafè da Ballo, Peter Pan, Palace, Marylin, Covo, Chez Vouz, Joy’s, and the Byblos in Riccione, as well as at hundreds of events in sports arenas, theatres, and public squares.
Since 2005, he has collaborated with the Servizio DJ agency, allowing him to perform at the prestigious Grimaldi Forum in Monaco in front of 2000 people.
His preferred musical style is POP Dance, 1980s and 1990s revival, and especially Italo Dance. He also uses the alias Roby Holiday for some of his productions.
