
Rico Bass
Biography
Rico Bass, whose real name is Alfonso Bernasconi, is a German DJ and producer specializing in “hands up” trance, born on 31 October 1970 in the Sauerland region.
His DJ career began in 1986. He used the stage name Rico Bass until 2008, before performing exclusively under his artist name Rico Bernasconi. Over the course of his career, he has been a member of the groups BoomTown, Master Blaster and Vinylshakerz, with whom he reached several top positions in the European charts.
In May 2004, he co-founded the label Airbase Recordings with Thomas Detert and Mike Griesheimer. Most of his singles were subsequently released on Starshit Records and Kontor Records.
His first notable solo success under the name Rico Bernasconi came in early 2009 with the single Love Deep Inside, which reached No. 1 on the VIVA Club Rotation Dance Charts. Later that year, his cover of Cruel Summer reached No. 69 in the German charts, and many other tracks then regularly topped the German dance charts.
His biggest commercial success arrived in 2015 with the single Ebony Eyes, which peaked at No. 28 in the German charts. Bernasconi is best known for his cover versions, although he has also produced original tracks.
