Residence Deejays

Residence Deejays is a Romanian progressive-house and dance duo from Constanta, formed in September 2008. The project consists of DJ Genesys (Marian-Ciprian Untaru) and Sg Vanyaxx (George Fatu), closely collaborating with their producer Ionut Untaru, also known under the pseudonym Frissco, who also provides vocals.

Their club concept blends exotic influences with a Balkan style, which has earned them great public success and international recognition.

Their first single, Sexy Love (early 2009), featuring Frissco on vocals, remained at the top of airplay charts for 25 weeks in Romania, Greece, Tunisia, and Bulgaria, and broke through in the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Poland. It became a staple of club and radio playlists, was licensed worldwide, and, from August 2009, was launched across the European Union, Russia, and the United States. In the Netherlands, the duo is supported by the Armada Music label, home to artists such as Tiësto and Armin Van Buuren. Research indicates that 50 million internet users have listened to this track, which continued to be heavily rotated on radio until August 2010.

Their second single, Lovely Smile (April 2010), had its music video shot at the “Muddy Volcanoes” in Romania and charted for 35 weeks on Nielsen charts.

The third single, Echo, was released on January 26, 2011 and received excellent feedback from radio stations. Its music video, filmed at Media Pro Pictures studios in Buftea, was released on March 23 of the same year.

The duo has gained a worldwide fan base, particularly in Europe and America, strengthened by the remix of Sexy Love produced by Peter Rauhofer, official remixer for Madonna, Justin Timberlake, and Rihanna.

Their music falls under the genres of house, dance, electronic, trance, club, and europop.
