Reset

Reset

Biography

Reset is a Norwegian eurodance project. It was started in 1994 as a solo venture by producer Stig Antonsen, then put on hold before anything was released.

In 1996 the project was revived when Christian Onshus and Trude Barstad joined. That period produced only one single, U. R. My Dream, before the act split up.

In November 1998, Reset returned for a second revival with the lineup that became the group’s main formation: producer Stig Antonsen and singers Camilla Henningsen (later Camilla Alvestad) and Thomas Borgvang. They chose the name “Reset” because 90% of the equipment was electronic.

The debut single Blue, released in June 1999, sold nearly 20,000 copies. The debut album Play followed a few months later, then more singles and a second album in October 2001.

As both Camilla Henningsen and Thomas Borgvang had been victims of bullying, they supported the youth organization MOT (“against”, “courage”), which addresses issues such as bullying, violence and drug abuse among young people, by performing for free at MOT events.

After several inactive years, Reset returned in late 2009 with the single Just Say Yeah, produced by Gordon Davies and John Tonks. The video featured various celebrities, including photographer Per Heimly, Linni Meister, rap duo Robin Og Bugge and former politician Jan Simonsen. The comeback and release party were also covered by Simonsen on his blog.

More recent singles include One Love (produced by Stig Antonsen) and So High (produced by Ketil Schei). The group’s regular DJ is Rune Ødegaard, who also DJs for Infinity (5).

In 2012, Reset joined forces with Solid Base under the name “Solid Base vs. Reset”, after cooperating for several years.

Note: the track You Got the Key (featuring Danii) belongs to a different “Reset” project than the Norwegian one. In that case, Kai Matthiesen is in charge; he had already worked with Mr. President. Singer Danii also comes from Mr. President.
