Biography

Nicole Prescovia Elikolani Valiente Scherzinger, born June 29, 1978 in Honolulu, Hawaii, is an American singer, songwriter, and dancer.

She began her music career in 1999 as a backing vocalist for the rock band Days of the New. She later joined the reality-TV-created group Eden’s Crush, before becoming the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls as they transitioned into a mainstream pop group. With the group, she released two albums, *PCD* and *Doll Domination*, and completed two tours.

In parallel, she started developing her first solo album in 2006, initially titled *Her Name Is Nicole*, writing and recording many songs for the project. After multiple delays, it was ultimately shelved. Her debut solo album, *Killer Love*, was finally released in 2011 and incorporates elements of eurodance and club pop. The singles Don't Hold Your Breath and Right There became international hits, reaching the top 10 in several countries.

After leaving Interscope Records in late 2013, she signed with Sony Music Entertainment and RCA Records.

Personally, Nicole Scherzinger was raised Roman Catholic. She studied at duPont Manual High School in the Youth Performing Arts School and performed with the Actors Theatre of Louisville. She then pursued a major in musical theatre at Wright State University, pausing her studies for her music career. In 2010, she won the tenth season of *Dancing with the Stars*.
