Minimalistix
Biography
Minimalistix is a trance project originating from Belgium.
The collective is composed of several members, including Janus De Decker, Jo Casters, Peter Bellaert, Steve Sidewinder, Frederik Hulpia, and Miguel Wittevrongel. Peter Bellaert, also known as Brian Koner, is the founder of the project, which is also linked to the aliases Poison I.V., Brian Koner, Jamie, Joey Morton & Ste.
The first single, Struggle For Pleasure, released in 2000, was an immediate success in the Belgian club scene, reaching number one on the dance charts and later climbing into the top 10 of the traditional charts. The subsequent tracks, Twin Peaks Theme and A Forest, although popular, did not replicate the same level of success.
In early 2002, a new single, Close Cover, inspired like the first track by Wim Mertens, became an international success, notably reaching number 12 on the UK charts. The same year, the first album, titled Elements, was released.
Minimalistix initially performed live, before these performances were replaced by a DJ act, the “Minimalistix DJs”, handled by Dave Lambert.
In addition to their own productions, the project is known for their remixes for other artists, notably for 4 Strings on Diving, DJ Sammy on Sunlight, Traveller & In Motion on Believe, and Tillmann Uhrmacher on On The Run.
