
Marc Acardipane
Biography
Marc Acardipane, real name Marc Trauner, is a German electronic music producer born on April 7, 1969 in Frankfurt am Main. Of Italian origin through his grandfather, he co-founded the label Planet Core Productions in 1989 with Thorsten Lambart, alias Slam Burt, a collective that gave rise to several influential sub-labels such as Dance Ecstasy 2001. He then founded his own label, Acardipane Records, in 1997, and Resident E Recordings in 2001 after moving to Hamburg.
Often credited as a pioneer of gabber and hardcore techno, he produced in 1990 under the alias Mescalinum United the track We Have Arrived, considered one of the first tracks of the genre, which gained notoriety after a remix by Aphex Twin. Throughout his career, he has used numerous aliases, such as The Mover, Spiritual Combat, Pilldriver, Marshall Masters, The Possessed, Nasty Django, Vibrator (2) and Resident E, to explore various sub-genres such as hardcore, gabber, hardstyle and happy hardcore. This prolific and diverse approach has made him a central and innovative figure in the German and international underground electronic scenes.
