The following year, he won the first season of the dance show *Let’s Dance* alongside dancer Maria Karlsson. Concurrently, he performed on stage in musicals, playing Danny in the Swedish version of *Grease* and appearing in the adaptation of *Footloose* in 2007.
Signed to the label M&L Records, a division of Warner Music Sweden, he released his first album, *Stand By For…*, on May 23, 2007. It immediately reached number one on the Swedish charts and was certified platinum. All singles from the album charted in the national top 50. His second album, *MZW*, was released in late March 2009 and achieved similar success, also topping the sales charts and receiving a gold certification. He embarked on a summer tour the same year to promote his first two works.
Måns Zelmerlöw is closely associated with Melodifestivalen, the Swedish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, where he competed three times. He returned in 2009 with Hope & Glory, qualifying again for the final where, despite receiving the most jury votes, he placed fourth.
It was in 2015 that he finally won the competition with the song Heroes. Qualifying directly for the Melodifestivalen final after the fourth semi-final, his victory allowed him to represent Sweden at Eurovision.
