Biography

Lori Glori (real name Lori Ham) is an American singer known for the quality of her voice and her vocal performances.

Originally from San Francisco, she began singing gospel in her hometown. At age 17, she won the beauty contest “Miss Black San Francisco.” She then toured the world for seven years with Bill Summers & Summers Heat.

Back in the United States, she lent her talents as a backing vocalist to an impressive list of renowned soul artists, including Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Thelma Houston, Barry White, Midnight Star and Cameo.

After her last tour with Summers Heat, she chose to settle in Germany to focus on her own career, and toured there with various artists such as Jennifer Rush.

In 1991, she signed a contract with producer Frank Farian. For the 1994 RTL-UNESCO New Year’s gala, she performed in German the mega-hit We Are The World, having been selected by John de Mol Sr. to sing live on RTL with a 110-voice choir.

Within the collective DMP (2), Lori Glori became an important component of several chart-marking projects. She is the voice behind hits for Intermission, Major T. and Loft. She also took part in Magical Love Affair by Magic Affair as well as the single Never by Rhythm + Dance Machine.
