Klubfiller
Biography
Klubfiller is the pseudonym of electronic music producer Steven Brett, originally from the Wirral Peninsula in the United Kingdom.
He is also known under the aliases Stevie B (2), The Insider, Steven Brett, and The Beast!. His productions are associated with styles such as happy hardcore, UK hardcore, hard trance, hard house, and hardcore techno.
His passion for music began early with learning guitar and piano. He acquired his first pair of vinyl turntables at the age of twelve, subsequently dedicating every weekend to buying the latest releases and building a network in the dance scene of Northern England, notably with the Liverpool-based label 3 Beat Records.
In 2001, he decided to switch to music production. He trained as an autodidact and also completed a two-year course at Liverpool Community College, where he earned a national diploma in music technology.
His first tracks, distributed to local DJs, were quickly played in clubs and on the radio. After moving towards harder, more underground sounds, he was put in contact with hard house DJ Andy Whitby by producer DJ Kurt. This meeting was decisive: Klubfiller joined the AWsum collective, alongside artists like Cally Gage and Matt Lee (alias Gammer).
His career then took off, with numerous productions and DJ residencies. He participated in the AWsum tours and founded his own label, Defiance Recordings.
He also runs the project Klubbed Up.
