Kensington
Biography
Formed in 2005, Kensington grew into the biggest band in the Netherlands and became the act with the most performances in the country’s largest concert hall, Ziggo Dome (Amsterdam). The band also sold out the adjacent Johan Cruijff ArenA, the only Dutch band to achieve this.
In 2017, Kensington received the Popprijs, won multiple 3FM Awards and MTV Awards, and in 2023 was honored with an Edison Pop lifetime achievement award.
After original singer Eloi left, the remaining members—Casper Starreveld, Jan Haker, and Niles Vandenberg—decided to continue. They brought in Jason Dowd, a Louisiana-born singer based in Los Angeles, after a demo sent via a mutual American friend immediately convinced the band.
With Jason Dowd, Kensington presents a new start and new songs, described as the beginning of a new season for the project.
