Karen Parry
Biography
Karen Parry is a British dance-scene singer who left her mark on the 2000s by appearing on several European hits.
She is particularly known for her many collaborations with the group Flip & Fill, contributing to tracks that charted in the UK such as Shooting Star and Discoland.
Her work also appeared on the Clubland compilation, with a dance cover of the song Flashdance.
Her initial musical approach blended elements of dance and R&B within indie compositions, earning her major success on the dance scene; she later made a notable transition into an ambitious mix of indie, rock and pop, a shift seen as revolutionary but one that, by moving her sound away from its roots, also puzzled part of her original audience.
