Biography
Jimmy Dub, whose real name is Năstase Octavian (Tavi), was born on 7 November 1989 in Bucharest, Romania. His journey—from dancer to DJ to one of the most prominent figures of the Romanian reggaeton scene—began at the age of seven.
In 2010 his single Monday topped the Romanian charts. The following year, his collaboration Sunglasses with John Rivas earned him the “Best New Artist” award at the Romanian Top Hits Awards.
His success continued with platinum-certified tracks like Ese Amor, which has hundreds of millions of views. His discography also includes the album Criminal (2021) and numerous hit singles such as Jale Jale, Jumatate, Mamacita, Inna Di World (2023), Dime Tu, Secretos, Noche Noche and Danseaza.
Collaborations are central to his work, with notable partners including Andeeno Damassy, Anna Lesko, Sonny Flame, Pepe, Connect-R, Nicole Cherry and Doddy. These projects highlight his ability to blend different musical styles while maintaining a distinctive sonic signature.
In 2024, Jimmy Dub continues his rise with new releases like LOW and A inceput Petrecerea, consolidating his position as a leader in reggaeton in Romania and beyond.
