Biography

JJ, also known by the stage names Geneva and JJ, is Ioana Oegar-Toderaș (born 1987), a Romanian-born, U.S.-based singer, rapper, and songwriter.

Born in Hunedoara, Romania in 1987, she moved to the United States at age 5, spending time in Washington, Manhattan, and Virginia, and returned to Romania at age 15.

She was noticed on SoundCloud by Snoop Dogg, who featured her on a mixtape.

In 2010, she collaborated with Romanian singer Corina on No Sleepin’, a Top 10 hit in Poland and Romania. A cover version by German girl group LaViVe also charted, reaching the Top 20 in Germany and Austria and the Top 30 in Switzerland. In 2011, the song was nominated at the Romanian Music Awards in the categories “Best Female” and “Best Video.”

As JJ, she also collaborated with Romanian singer Elena Gheorghe on Pana Dimineata (“Until Morning”), which premiered at the 2013 Media Music Awards.

In 2020, she teamed up with Corina again for another collaboration, Superstar.
