ILLIT

Biography

ILLIT (stylized :ll:+ or I’ll-It) is a South Korean girl group formed by BELIFT LAB, a subsidiary of HYBE, through the competition and survival show JTBC R U Next?.
The group’s name, initially presented as I’ll-It during the show’s finale, represents the idea of choosing one’s own verb to place between “I’ll” and “It,” conveying the members’ ability to act and make decisions independently.

The show R U Next? aired for ten episodes from June 30 to September 1, 2023, featuring 22 contestants competing to debut in a six-member group, the first girl group from BELIFT LAB and the third to debut under the HYBE umbrella after LE SSERAFIM and NewJeans.
The final lineup, consisting of Wonhee, Youngseo, Minju, Iroha, Moka, and Yunah, was revealed at the end of the broadcast.

On January 5, 2024, BELIFT LAB announced Youngseo’s departure from the group, mutually decided after discussions about her future activities and those of the group.
ILLIT therefore made their official debut on March 25, 2024 as a quintet composed of Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha, with the release of their first EP titled SUPER REAL ME.

The EP, which includes four tracks, saw notable participation from HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk in production.
It contains the debut title track Magnetic, which quickly garnered attention on global charts.
The song became the first debut single by a K-pop act to appear on the Billboard Hot 100, entering at No. 91, and also made ILLIT the first K-pop group to enter the UK Official Singles Chart with a debut song, reaching No. 80.
The EP Super Real Me entered the Billboard 200 at No. 93, and ILLIT reached No. 41 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart.

Before their official debut, ILLIT made an appearance at Paris Fashion Week for Acne Studios in February 2024, becoming the first K-pop act to attend the event before their debut.
In the months following their debut, the music video for Lucky Girl Syndrome and increased media exposure contributed to ILLIT being named the first “K-Pop Rookie of the Month” by Billboard in June 2024.

On October 21, 2024, ILLIT released their first comeback, I’LL LIKE YOU, with the title track Cherish (My Love).
On November 14, 2024, the group released the music video for the promoted B-side, Tick-Tack.

The group continued their international career with the release of their first Japanese single, Almond Chocolate, on February 14, 2025, for the soundtrack of the live-action film adaptation of the manga It Takes More Than a Pretty Face to Fall in Love.
The Korean version of the song was released on March 10, 2025 for promotion on Korean music shows.

On June 5, 2025, ILLIT released the full song and music video for little monster, serving as a brand film.
On June 16, 2025, the group released their third comeback, bomb, with Billyeoon Goyangi (Do The Dance) as the title track, while jellyous serves as the promoted B-side with a music video.
