George Sunday

George Kyriakakis, known as George Sunday, is a DJ and producer whose lifelong love for music has been a major factor in the progressive development of his DJing skills.

Born in Piraeus on August 14, 1988, he first touched the piano at the age of 4. Captivated by its soft, melodic sound, he began piano and music theory lessons at 6 and has practiced continuously ever since. His dedication was rewarded with three first prizes at two Panhellenic and one worldwide piano competition in 1999, 2000, and 2002. A key moment came on June 12, 2008, when he obtained a Piano Diploma from the National Conservatory of Athens.

He began harmony lessons in 1998, a mastery that gradually increased his ability to improvise and compose. This skill earned him first prize in a Panhellenic Musical Composition Competition in November 2003 in Volos.

Until the age of 12, his listening was mainly oriented towards classical music and hits from the 50s and 60s. Growing up, he discovered new styles through his relationships. Rock and jazz were the genres that captivated him the most; playing these pieces in school bands allowed him to express a great sense of power and dynamism. He performed in concerts with these bands until his graduation from the American College of Greece high school in 2006, before joining the Mechanical Engineering department of the National Technical University of Athens.

After his high school graduation in 2006, having more free time, he frequented clubs and parties more often. Listening to various dance songs and the way DJs mixed them, he became addicted to dance music and felt he could mix these tracks himself. This is how his involvement in DJing began.

He then devoted a lot of time to mixing songs, with the main objective of playing and mixing current tracks in the best possible way to please the audience. His repertoire includes songs of all styles, from House and Disco to Rap, Hiphop, and traditional dance songs.

George Sunday has also started remixing some Greek and foreign songs widely played in clubs in Greece. Through his remixes, he attempts to add spice to the feeling these songs try to convey and to make the audience dance to the beat.

Besides his remixes, he has recently ventured into music production, an activity that interests him greatly, mainly due to the musical composition studies he pursued throughout his high school and university years.

He has already performed at various parties and events, including a number of ceremonies at the American College of Greece in Athens.
