Biography
Constantin Sava, known as DJ Sava, was born on April 3, 1973 in Buzău, Romania. He showed an interest in music from childhood and began mixing professionally in the early 1990s.
He was a resident for ten years at the local club No Limit, then toured the Romanian seaside clubs; his activity intensified between 2000 and 2004 when he had the opportunity to mix in one of the largest clubs in Costinești.
His recording career began in 2005 with Romanian singer Elena Pavel on the single “Gone Away”; in 2006 he recorded the single “Remember” with Dana Nicula, who made her vocal debut.
His first album, Love Drops, was released at the end of 2007 on Cat Music; it compiled his early singles, included new tracks with vocals by Connect-R and a series of remixes by Sava; the cover was created by Vali Bărbulescu.
At the same time he promoted the single “Sunshine”, a collaboration with Connect-R, whose video was filmed in Moldova; the record was well received and charted in Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Italy. The collaboration with Connect-R continued in 2008 with “The Reason”.
From spring 2009 he began a successful collaboration with Romanian electronic singer Raluka: their single “September” was well received, followed by “I Like (The Trumpet)”, produced in a few days at the Rappin On studio of Connect-R, who also recorded backing vocals; this track topped the national Romanian charts for eleven consecutive editions in 2010.
That same year DJ Sava ran an intensive promotional campaign in Romania and opened for a Tiësto concert in Chișinău; at the end of 2010 he released the single “Love You” with Raluka and Connect-R, which reached sixth place on the Romanian Radio Airplay Chart.
