DJ Ross
Biography
DJ Ross, born Rossano Prini, is an Italian dance artist and DJ, born on August 13, 1973.
He began his career at 17 as a resident DJ in various venues in northern Italy and worked with recording studios. In 1993 he entered the record industry: first at Discomagic, then at Self Distribuzione, and later with Luca Mensi at Email Records.
From 1998 he became A&R manager for Time Records and created the sublabel SPY Records, through which he discovered and launched several major talents in the Italian and international dance scene.
During his years at Time Records he originated notable productions such as THE LAWYER and EMAGIC feat. Nancy, in collaboration with Nick Ferrando and Stefano Marcato. A partnership with Tristano De Bonis and Luca Mensi produced the MAGIC BOX and ERIKA projects, whose tracks topped national and international charts.
In 2001, his collaboration with Paolo Sandrini resulted in “Dreamland”, the first major hit credited to DJ ROSS; “Emotion” followed, along with tours in Italy and worldwide and the organization of SPY PARTY with other circle artists like S.M.S. and M@D.
The tracks “Smile” and “Floating in Love” confirmed his regular presence in the hit parades.
In 2004, DJ Ross, Magic Box and Erika performed live at the PLANET POP FESTIVAL in São Paulo (Brazil), a public success renewed in 2005.
At the same time, Rossano launched LABEL73, another Time Records sublabel he supervised that explored other genres; the label had hits with SQUEEZE UP feat. Rod Fame, TEISHAN “You Isla Bonita” and BEATS and STYLES “Dance Dance Dance”.
In 2005 “Get Up” was released under the project DJ ROSS VS. DY, produced with Paolo Sandrini and sung by William Naraine (DOUBLE YOU), licensed in many countries; the release of “Beat Goes On” followed shortly after. DJ Ross is also associated with the musical project alongside members Jimmy Gorski and Yannick Gorski.
