Biography
Deorro, whose real name is Erick Orrosquieta, is an American-Mexican DJ and producer born on August 30, 1991, in Los Angeles.
He began his DJ career by playing local shows from the age of 14. By 17, he was already producing his own tracks. He was previously known as TON!C.
In 2012, his career took a major turn when DJ Chuckie asked him to remix the track Make Some Noise. The remix reached Beatport’s Top 50. He then went on to remix tracks by internationally renowned DJs such as Steve Aoki, Laidback Luke, and Gareth Emery.
In late 2011, he released one of his most popular tracks, Big Fat, on BIP Records, expanding his fan base worldwide. One of his biggest achievements was entering the Beatport Top 20 in the Electro House category.
His sound, often associated with Melbourne Bounce and Electro House, earned support from major figures in the electronic scene, including Laidback Luke, Tiësto, Kaskade, Porter Robinson, Bingo Players, Knife Party, Afrojack, Chuckie, Sidney Samson, Steve Aoki, Dillon Francis, Alvin Risk, Cazzette, and Peace Treaty.
In 2012, he was added as an opening act on a U.S. tour, selling out venues across several states and quickly rising in popularity. That same year, an Australian tour saw him play to packed crowds in Melbourne and Sydney. He had the opportunity to close the main stage at the 2012 Good Life Festival in Melbourne, performing for more than 30,000 people after Skrillex and Steve Angello.
