Biography
Deep System, sometimes stylized as Deepsystem, is a Romanian electronic music project led by Andrei. His interest in music began early after discovering his father’s old DJ equipment and experimenting with it. He also took singing lessons to develop his skills.
At 16, Andrei landed his first job as a club MC and initially worked as a hip-hop artist, releasing four mixtapes. In 2009, he decided to take his craft more seriously and formed Deep System to put out his first studio single, combining his interest in dance, europop, and reggaeton.
The project’s rise accelerated from 2009 through growing traction on YouTube and in clubs. What Is Love acted as a breakthrough, paving the way for Why and It's ok. Later, Mr DJ passed one million views on YouTube, received radio and club play across Europe, and became one of the well-liked tracks of 2010. This momentum led to an invitation as a special artist at the “Albanian Eurovision” song contest.
Over the years, Deep System released a run of popular singles. Hey My Love is cited as the most popular, surpassing 80 million streams worldwide. Other mentioned tracks include The Sin of Life, Born 2 Love You, and MR DJ, described as the first song that truly gained traction. He has also recorded a number of songs in Spanish.
Based in Romania, he works from his studio as a singer, songwriter, and producer, creating his songs himself. He has collaborated with artists including Da Fleiva, Connect-R, Chris Mayer, Jayoh, Jeta Faqolli, Deniz K., and Andy M..
