Daddy DJ
Biography
Daddy DJ is a French electronic music project, which became popular with its mega dance hit “Daddy DJ“. Their style falls within the eurodance, pop and techno genres.
The group consists of David Le Roy (vocals), Jean-Christophe Belval (keyboards) and Pierre-Alex Favriel, who joined in 2023. Former member Charles Merkiled, known under the pseudonym DJ Charly, was also part of the project.
Their first eponymous single, released in October 2000, reached number two on the French chart and remained there for almost five months.
Jean-Christophe Belval is particularly known for his remix work for artists such as Gigi D'agostino, Dead or Alive and Blondie. David Le Roy was born in New Caledonia and Charles Merkiled in Martinique.
The project also operates under the aliases Life Quest, DDJ and Human Quest.
