Crystal Rock
Biography
Crystal Rock is a group of DJs and music producers from Hanover, Germany. The collective comprises Daniel Zeller, Matthias Fleckenstein and Silvio Hinkelmann.
Their recording career began in 2011 with the release of their first singles, fitting the 2010s dance-music trend of using interpolations of well-known 1980s and 1990s tracks. Their first single, How Will I Know, reproduces the lyrics and melody of the 1985 hit by Whitney Houston, backed by a danceable four-to-the-floor electronic rhythm.
In addition to their own productions, Crystal Rock has produced remixes for other artists, for example on Blurred Lines. Their activity continued in subsequent years, notably with their 2021 version of the hit Astronaut in the Ocean, made in collaboration with Felix Schorn and NOTSOBAD, and the 2022 release of the single Higher Power, featuring Just Mike, Nerds at Raves and Ramori.
