Centory
Biography
Centory is a German electronic music group, specifically eurodance, formed in 1994. The project was built around rapper Turbo B., known for his previous work with Snap!, and on stage he was accompanied by a singer presented as ‘Mystery girl’.
Several well-known eurodance vocalists contributed to the recordings: Take It To The Limit and Eye In The Sky were performed by Lori Glori. The song Point Of No Return, later covered by a project named Fun Century, features Janet Henry’s voice (who later contributed to Magic Affair as Janet De Lara). The vocals on Feel Alright were provided by Gary Carolla; for the rest of the album the singer Anita Davis supplied the vocals. Christiane Eiben, who took part in many of Axel Breitung’s eurodance projects, also provided backing vocals.
The Centory team also worked on Cerrone’s first remix album in 1995, remixing two tracks, including the energetic Heart Of Me with the voice of Laura Brightman. The collective also produced the project Steel, known for the track Power Of Love.
Key members and contributors include rapper Durron Butler, alias Turbo B., singer-songwriter Gary Carolla, and producers/writers Sven Kirschner and Alexander Strasser, the latter also known as Alex Trime.
