Candee Jay
Biography
Candee Jay is a Dutch eurodance project fronted by singer and model Ilze Lankhaar, born on 1 September 1981. Production was handled by Sebastiaan Molijn and Eelke Kalberg, the producers behind the success of Alice Deejay.
With dancers Jezebel Zwiers and Elske Cinibulk, the Candee Jay project aimed to achieve a level of success similar to Alice Deejay, but that goal did not materialize as expected.
Its biggest hits were the singles If I Were You, Back For Me, and Lose This Feeling. However, the latter two never matched the first single’s chart performance.
In the United States, If I Were You and Back For Me made a moderate impact, selling well enough to appear on the Hot Dance Singles Sales chart.
The project released only one album, Electrifying, in the United Kingdom, which failed to enter the UK charts. In the United States, the album also did not make the charts, including the Top Electronic Albums list.
