Banaroo

Banaroo

Biography

Banaroo was a German pop and Eurodance group, originally active from 2005 to 2008.

The original lineup consisted of four members, often referred to by their nicknames: Bobby, Steffy, Cat, and Vito. The members are Stefanie Dreyer, Kathrin Geißler, Vittorio Magro, and Robbert Dessauvagie.

Their first single, Dubi Dam Dam, released in June 2005, was a huge success, reaching number two on the German charts. It was followed by the album Banaroo’s World, which reached number one in Germany and Austria.

Their second single, Space Cowboy, released in August 2005, entered the German top ten. A third single, Coming Home For Christmas, also reached the top ten in Germany and Austria.

In December 2005, the group released a second album, Christmas World, which was not exclusively Christmas songs and debuted at number 12 on the German charts.

Banaroo’s musical style, often described as bubblegum pop, has been compared to other popular European groups like Alcazar or Vengaboys.

The group was relaunched in 2013 with four new members, Doro, Lauren, Alvin, and Daniel, but disbanded again in November of the same year after the release of a new album.
