Astral Projection

Astral Projection

Biography

Astral Projection is an Israeli electronic music group, specializing in goa trance and psytrance.

The project consists of members Avi Nissim and Lior Perlmutter. A founding member, Yan-Iv Haviv, left the group after the second album, making Astral Projection a duo since then.

The band was initially formed under the name Samantha Fox in 1989 by Avi Nissim and Lior Perlmutter. In 1991, they released a successful single titled “Monster Mania”. After a period where Lior Perlmutter remained in the United States, Avi Nissim teamed up with Yaniv Haviv and Guy Sabbag to release the single “Another World” in 1993.

In early 1994, Lior Perlmutter returned to Israel to work on new material. Shortly after, Guy Sabbag left the group and the remaining members eventually adopted the name Astral Projection.

The majority of their releases have been through their own label, Trust in Trance, which later merged with Phonokol. The group has an extensive discography and a very active global touring schedule.

Among their most well-known tracks are Kabalah, People Can Fly, Mahadeva and Dancing Galaxy. Their style is described as fast and innovative trance.

Astral Projection is considered one of the most important projects of the global goa and psytrance scene of the 1990s. Their albums have been distributed in many countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Scandinavia, the Balkans, Asia and Japan.
