Anticappella

Anticappella

Biography

Anticappella was a mysterious musical project led by producer Gianfranco Bortolotti, which over time involved Max Persona, Lorenzo Carpella, Beverley Skeete, Bruno Guerrini, Jacqueline Jair, Max Aventino, Zeeteah Massiah, Alessandro Pasinelli, Simone Pagliari and Farrah.

Their first notable track was the instrumental 2√231, which became a major club hit in 1991.
That same year the song Everyday was released, finding some success mainly on the club scene of southern Europe.

In 1993 I Wanna Love You and Movin' To The Beat were released and received a good reception, particularly outside Europe.
However, Anticappella’s biggest hit remains Move Your Body, released the following year and featuring Dutch rapper MC Fixx It (who had previously collaborated with Twenty 4 Seven). The single charted across most European countries and its video, filmed in a factory, helped its success.

In 1995 the single Express Your Freedom was issued on a limited basis in a few countries, reaching only some dance charts in the UK, Scandinavia and Italy.
In 1996 new remixes of 2√231 and Move Your Body were released only in the UK, with the former again becoming a club hit there; I Need To Tell Everybody was also released that year.

The project saw a surprise revival in 1998 with the release of Get Faster, followed by Bring Me Down, I Want Your Love and I Need A Hero. After that late output the label Media Records decided not to restart Anticappella.
