2 Fabiola

2 Fabiola

Biography

2 Fabiola is a Belgian dance group formed in 1991 by Pat Krimson (Patrick Claesen) and Oliver Adams, the latter also active with the production team M.N.O.. They were soon joined by singer and dancer Zohra and by go-go dancer Fabio Ponenté, who took part in performances until the single Magic Flight.

Their first production under this name is The Milky Way, a tribute to the Belgian royal family. In 1996 they achieved a major hit with Play This Song, which became number one in Spain for four weeks and remained in the Spanish top 10 for about six months. That success was confirmed by the following single, Lift U Up, which also reached number one in Belgium for five weeks and won an award for best Belgian production.

The group is known for extravagant stage shows, striking outfits and an energetic live act. On stage the main trio consisted of Zohra (vocals, belly dance, choreography), Pat Krimson on keyboards and Fabio Ponenté. Producer and composer Andrès Romero also contributed to several of their hits.

At the end of the 1990s the project paused: Zohra and Oliver Adams pursued solo careers while Pat Krimson focused on his other project, Nunca. In 1999 the group was relaunched with a new singer, Medusa (Evy Goffin), but after two singles without much success the project was suspended again.

In 2007 Pat Krimson announced the return of 2 Fabiola with the single Straight To The Top, performed by Australian singer Katie Michaelson. In 2008 the tracks We Love The 90's (used as the anthem for the I Love The 90’s Party in Hasselt) and Blow Me Away were released. For this new phase Pat Krimson was supported by two new singers: Loredana (Loredana Deamicis) and Viola (Viola Furleo).
