Kyra Pharao

Kyra Pharao, born 17 January 1971 in Cairo, was born Claudia Banerjee. Her mother is Egyptian and her father Indian; she has a younger sister named Melina. After her parents divorced when she was ten, she moved to Munich and began singing in front of her bedroom mirror before joining choirs. Five years of classical music studies and ten years of ballet gave her the vocal strength to sing solos in churches.
At 24, the project Pharao was created: within three hours she became the project’s female vocalist and also contributed to songwriting. She left her job at an advertising agency to dedicate herself full time to the group. A snake enthusiast, she owned the python Pythi (aka Petit), shown in the video for I Show Secrets.
