Pharao
Biography
Pharao was a German eurodance project produced by Alexander Hawking and DJ Stevie Steve (Steffen Harning). The duo featured singer Kyra Pharao, of Indian and Egyptian descent, and American rapper Deon Blue (Marcus Deon Thomas).
Their debut single, I Show You Secrets, quickly reached number one on the German charts and entered the Top Ten in several other European countries, notably Spain, Italy and Sweden.
The group’s popularity was reinforced by the singles There Is A Star and World of Magic, as well as by their self-titled first album, released in November 1994. In 1995 Deon Blue was replaced by the American Eric Martin.
After nearly a two-year hiatus, the group returned in 1997 without Deon Blue and released the singles Temple Of Love and Once Upon A Time; their second album, The Return, was issued in 1998.
According to their former management agency Media Agency, Pharao split in 2001. In late 2014 Kyra Pharao revived the project on stage with rapper Prince Damien, and a ‘Best Of’ remastered by producer Chris Sauer was released mainly for concerts. In early 2016 Prince Damien left the group and was replaced by Nik Felice (also known as Siam).
