Zio Peter
Biography
Zio Peter is the stage name of Italian DJ and producer Pietro De Vita. Born in Sicily in 1978 and based in Biella, his career spans decades across radio, clubs, events and productions.
He started DJing as a child at school parties, encouraged by his grandfather, who entrusted him with records during dance lessons. His professional debut came in 1993 on Radio Sole in Marsala with an afternoon show, followed in 1999 by the creation of “90allora”, a brand still active today through nights and broadcasts.
In 2003 he moved to Biella, beginning a long collaboration with Radio Piemonte and becoming known in local venues. Around the same years he also formed an ongoing partnership with Gabriele “Micro” Budroni, with whom he still organizes events and runs the 90Allora project.
Over time he has alternated between radio, DJ sets and productions. During the pandemic his show moved online and welcomed guests from the Dance scene, including Simone Jay, Nathalie Aarts, Roberto Turatti and Giacomo Maiolini.
In 2023, at the House of Glass Studios in Viareggio, he started a new production chapter, collaborating with Netzwerk on an italodisco remix of La Rondine. In 2024 he released a remixed version of Figli delle Stelle for the UDP Discopiù label, also issued on vinyl.
In 2025, with producers JL & Afterman, he produced a remix of Io Nascerò. He then produced, together with Bruno Guerrini, the “follow-up” for Irene Cara titled All my Heart, and a remix of a cover of Malo sung by Elyon, produced by Turatti Bros. at Maury Pirotta’s studios.
For summer 2026, an EP is announced featuring new remixes of Rise Up and two new tracks sung by Elyon.
