Marsha

Marsha

Biography

Marsha, whose real name is Martine Danny Jozefa Theeuwen, was born on October 7th 1976 in Neerpelt, Belgium. The youngest of two daughters in a music-loving family, she developed a strong interest in music and performing at a very young age.

Primary school reports mentioned her talent and beautiful voice, and music teachers influenced her to join the church choir, where she gained her first performing experience. She also took part in school shows as well as playback and sound-mix shows, imitating in particular her all-time favourite, Madonna.

Around the age of 10, she and a friend started writing new lyrics to existing songs, and her instinctive talent for writing in English and Dutch became apparent. By attending many national and international performances, she gradually shaped her dream of becoming a performing artist and singer.

At about 20, she dropped out of high school and started her first job, which led to an important first connection with the music industry. A first voice-screening test then fueled her ambition. Around the same time, she appeared in several clubs as a dancer, and the increased exposure boosted her self-confidence and determination to pursue her goal.
