Biography
Redone, born Nadir Khayat, is a Moroccan-Swedish songwriter and record producer born on April 9, 1972 in Tétouan. His career began in the European pop scene before his breakthrough with Bamboo, the official song for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, where he was appointed the tournament’s lead music producer. A mash-up of the song with Hips Don't Lie was performed at the final in Berlin. After moving to New York, he produced Kat DeLuna’s album, including the single Whine Up. His collaboration with Lady Gaga on Just Dance and Poker Face was pivotal, earning him a Grammy Award in 2010 and four additional awards for the album The Fame. He has collaborated with numerous artists such as Akon, Usher, Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, Sugababes, Nicole Scherzinger, Pitbull, Marc Anthony, Pixie Lott, New Kids on the Block, Sean Kingston, Alexandra Burke, Adam Lambert, Backstreet Boys and even worked with Michael Jackson. In 2010, he founded the label 2101 Records in a joint venture with Universal Music Group, signing Mohombi as its first artist, and is co-owner of RedOneKonvict with Akon. His work is primarily in dance, electronic and pop music, including projects for soundtracks and Moroccan pop.
