Biography

Showtek is a Dutch electronic music duo consisting of the brothers Sjoerd Janssen and Wouter Janssen.

The duo is also known under several aliases, including Unibass, W&S, Headliner, Dutch Masters, Lowriders, Mr Puta, and SHOWTEKNO.

Their musical journey began with the release of their first album ‘Today is Tomorrow’ in 2007. Their second album, ‘Analogue Players in a Digital World’, unveiled in 2009 at the Amsterdam Dance Event, was praised for its ability to cross genres.

Showtek launched a collaboration concept called “Crazy Collabs”. The first was with Tiësto on the track Hell Yeah!, which became a global top 10 hit. The second collaboration, How We Do with Hardwell, reached number one on the Beatport chart shortly after its release.

Their music was used on the soundtrack of the Hollywood film ‘Bruno’ by Sacha Baron Cohen. They were also the first artists of their style to produce the “Essential Mix” for BBC Radio 1.

The duo was ranked in the top 20 of Dutch music exports and was cited by Billboard Magazine as a highlight of the 2011 Electric Daisy Carnival. They shared the bill with artists such as David Guetta, Steve Angello, Tiësto, and Steve Aoki.

Showtek undertook international tours, including a six-week bus tour in the United States organized by Live Nation, and sold out venues on every continent.
